EFL Cup REVIEW 8 Aug 2026: Shrewsbury edge Salford 4-3 on penalties after two red cards

Salford City and Shrewsbury Town finished 1-1 and went to penalties with each side down to ten men. J. Davison put Shrewsbury ahead on 47, S. Stubbs was sent off for Shrewsbury on 74, K. Malcolm levelled for Salford on 78, and W. Aimson was dismissed for Salford in the 90th minute. Shrewsbury won the shootout 4-3.

QPR and Millwall finished 1-1: L. Cundle put Millwall ahead on 54 and M. Sykes turned into his own net on 86 to level it for QPR. Millwall went through 2-0 on penalties. Wootton traded goals on 50 and 51, and Burnley beat Notts County 4-3 on penalties, Z. Flemming's goal on 48 answering C. Roberts on 42.

Among the ties settled in normal time, West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City both won 4-1. West Brom scored four at Rotherham through J. Morgan on 8 and 61, H. Whitwell on 24 and F.
