Celtic reached the Premier Sports Cup quarter-finals with a 4-0 win at Dundee United, scoring twice in the first half hour through Auston Trusty and Camilo Duran before Sebastian Tounekti and Benjamin Nygren added further goals after the break. Celtic had gone into the tie on the back of a 5-1 win over Kilmarnock, while Dundee United arrived at the second round having topped their group and off the back of a 4-0 defeat to Hearts.

Aberdeen made home advantage count against Dundee, winning 3-0 at Pittodrie behind two goals from Kevin Nisbet either side of one from Mitchy Ntelo. Nisbet opened the scoring in the 51st minute, Ntelo doubled the lead in the 57th minute, and Nisbet's second on 63 minutes completed the scoring inside a second-half burst.

Ross County produced the upset, winning 1-2 away to Dunfermline. Jamie Lindsay put the League One visitors ahead in the 58th minute, and although A. Oyirwoth levelled for Dunfermline on 76 minutes, Richard Chin restored County's lead in the 85th minute to send the third-tier side through at the expense of their Championship hosts.
