UEFA Conference League REVIEW 6 Aug 2026: Hibs edge Shkendija late; Motherwell held by Pukki leveller

Hibernian beat Shkendija 2-1 at home in the first leg of their Conference League third qualifying round tie, with the second leg away at Shkendija on 13 August. O. Elding, booked on 56 minutes, put Hibs ahead on 73, only for M. Gjorgjievski to level for the visitors on 76, before W. O'Hora scored on 90 to settle the first leg. Cards went both ways: M. Chaiwa was cautioned for Hibernian on 63, while Shkendija had D. Islami booked on 70, M. Murati on 80 and V. Krstevski on 90.

Motherwell drew 1-1 away to HJK in the same round, with the second leg at Motherwell on 13 August. T. Maswanhise scored from the penalty spot on 64 minutes, only for T. Partizan saw off Tobol 3-0 at home, Sheriff Tiraspol lost 1-3 at home to St Gallen, and Inter Turku beat Vaduz 2-1, P. Ahiabu scoring the winner on 68.

The 2-0 wins came for Jablonec at home to RFS, Inter Club d'Escaldes at home to Flora, Hapoel Tel Aviv at home to GKS Katowice, Lugano at home to NSI Runavik, Nordsjaelland away at Valur and Midtjylland away at Bohemians. Noah and Sion drew 2-2 in a match that lost a player to each side, N. Hefti sent off on 26 minutes and S. Mambo on 64, while Beitar Jerusalem led through N. Muche on 19 before Austria Vienna won 2-1 through V. Markovic on 45 and S. Saljic on 69. Among the tighter results, Braga edged Dinamo Minsk 1-0 with a R. Horta penalty on 45, Riga FC saw off Gyor 1-0 courtesy of an own goal on 3, Dynamo Kyiv beat Qarabag 1-0 through M. Ponomarenko on 10, Gent won 1-0 away at Goteborg, Rijeka beat Ilves 1-0, Borac Banja Luka beat MKK-Dnepr 1-0, and Rakow were held goalless at home by Hammarby.
