UEFA Europa League PREVIEW 14 Aug 2026: Lech Poznan carry a 1-0 lead to Torshavn for the rescheduled second leg

Klaksvik host Lech Poznan at Torsvollur in Torshavn on Friday, kick-off 19:00 local time, 20:00 in Poland and 18:00 UTC, in the second leg of their UEFA Europa League third qualifying round tie. The match was originally scheduled for 13 August; after consulting the match delegate, UEFA moved it to Friday. Lech hold a 1-0 lead from the first leg, Y. Agnero settling it on 81 minutes on 6 August.

The winners are likely to meet Thun in the Europa League play-off round, with the Swiss side currently 3-0 up on Vikingur Reykjavik. Whoever loses drops into the Conference League play-off round, to face either Riga or ETO Gyor.

Lech have put together a run of three successive wins in all competitions and have seven points from the opening three matches of their Ekstraklasa title defence, Niels Frederiksen's side following the first leg with a 3-0 victory over Piast at the weekend, a game in which eighteen-year-old Karol Delikat netted in a 12-minute cameo. That was his first outing of the season and he is expected to be kept in reserve here. Just seven goals have been conceded across seven games in all competitions, four of which came in the capitulation against Aarhus, having somehow let slip a 4-1 advantage in Champions League qualifying.

Klaksvik have now gone three European fixtures without finding the back of the net, and lost 2-0 at home to HB Torshavn last time out, a result that left them three points adrift of the leaders in the league standings. Magnus Powell can call on Hallur Hansson again, the midfielder having served his one-match ban for three yellow cards, with Oussama Ali possibly dropping out of the team to accommodate his return.
