Lech Poznań finished off KÍ Klaksvík in some style at Tórsvøllur, winning 5-0 to complete a 6-0 aggregate victory in the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round. Five different players got on the scoresheet: Allahyar Sayyadmanesh opened it in the 20th minute, P. Rodriguez doubled it on 50 minutes, Antoni Kozubal made it three on 75 minutes, and D. Hakans and Patrik Walemark added the fourth and fifth in the closing two minutes, the last of them right on 90.
The tie had gone into the second leg with the narrowest of cushions after Yannick Agnero's 81st-minute goal had settled the first leg 1-0 in Poznań on 6 August. The return itself carried a stray subplot before kick-off: it was pushed back from Thursday to Friday because travel problems delayed the trip, though it made no difference once the match started.
Klaksvík went into the tie out of form in front of goal. They had failed to score in their last three European qualifiers, and had lost 2-0 at home to Havnar Bóltfelag in the Faroese league on Monday. Lech, in contrast, arrived on a run of three straight wins in all competitions after recovering from a painful Champions League exit — having surrendered a 4-1 first-leg lead against Aarhus — the run including a 3-0 league win over Piast Gliwice the previous weekend.
The 6-0 aggregate sends Lech Poznań through to the Europa League play-off round.
