Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Stoke City 4-1 with the same pattern in reverse: Gallagher put Stoke ahead on two minutes, and then Gomes scored on 19 and 23, Jimenez from the penalty spot on 55 and James on 84.
Middlesbrough beat West Bromwich Albion 3-1 with all four goals in the second half — Lankshear on 48, Morgan's equaliser on 65, Lankshear again on 73 and Jones on 87. Derby County lost 3-0 at home to Swansea City, who scored through Opoku on two minutes, Eom Ji-Sung on 44 and Ronald on 90. Blackburn Rovers led Queens Park Rangers through Morishita on 49 and lost 2-1, Smyth equalising two minutes later and Dunne winning it on 74.
Cardiff City and Sheffield United shared four goals inside 38 minutes and finished 2-2: Moylan on two, Cannon from the spot on four, O'Hare on seven and Ashford on 38, and nothing in the fifty-two minutes that followed. Bristol City beat Portsmouth 2-1 with goals from Tolaj on 31 and Knight on 56, Marezi replying from a penalty on 90. The tight ones closed the card. Bolton Wanderers 0-1 Lincoln City turned on House's goal on 66 minutes, and Charlton Athletic beat Preston North End 1-0 through Grant on 56. Two one-goal margins on a day that also produced a five, two fours and a three.
