The wildest ten minutes of the night came at Bolton, where four goals inside eighteen minutes turned the Championship table on its head in real time. Jarrod Bowen opened the scoring for West Ham before Ethan Erhahon levelled and Ruben Rodrigues put Bolton 2-1 up from the penalty spot; Konstantinos Mavropanos then equalised from what Claret and Hugh describe as "a perfect Arne Engels free kick", before Bowen struck his second, and the winner, in the 77th minute — a goal that had a slice of fortune, rolling in, per the same site, "off the bottom of his boot." The site's own framing of the opening spell captured just how much the picture changed inside one half: "From eighth, up to first and down to tenth inside one half." West Ham won 3-2.
Southampton's home form kept climbing, this time against Swansea City. Cyle Larin scored either side of goals from Finn Azaz and Leo Scienza in a 3-1 win — Swansea's reply came from a Zan Vipotnik penalty — and Nation.Cymru notes the streak now running underneath it: "Larin, who is the joint-top scorer in the Championship, netted either side of Finn Azaz and Leo Scienza strikes to make it 13 games unbeaten at St Mary's in a row." The same report places the result against a wider table context: "It followed Saints hammering previous leaders Millwall 5-1 10 days ago, although Swansea... stayed level on points at the summit." Sheffield United produced their own turnaround at Ewood Park, Kristi Montgomery's opener for Blackburn cancelled out by Thomas Cannon and Sydie Peck either side of the 35th minute — Yahoo Sports/PA describing a side that had barely threatened before that burst: "The Blades were blunted without a shot in anger for the first 34 minutes but they turned the game on its head with goals from their only two shots of the half", before the lead was protected by "Hamza Choudhury's sensational goalline block... along with two smart Michael Cooper saves." It finished 1-2.
Elsewhere, Cardiff and Stoke shared a point that meant more to the visitors: Benjamin Johnson's opener was cancelled out by Joel Colwill, and Yahoo Sports/PA note Stoke's away struggles before it — "Stoke had been boosted by back-to-back home wins but their form on the road was dire, with no wins in 11 games" — even as "the Potters came under fierce pressure in the second half and Joel Colwill's headed home for Cardiff hosts who hit a post three times." Watford recovered from an early setback to beat Preston 2-1, Callum Lang's fifth-minute opener answered by Edo Kayembe and Mamadou Doumbia in the second half. And Burnley's winless start to the Championship season continued at Wrexham, where Zeki Amdouni's opener was cancelled out by Jacques Ekomie in a 1-1 draw — VAVEL noting going in that "Burnley arrived at this fixture still searching for their first league victory."
