EFL Championship PREVIEW 9 Oct 2026: West Ham host Queens Park Rangers after a summer of selling

West Ham United were relegated from the Premier League last season and host Queens Park Rangers at the London Stadium on Friday, Nuno Espirito Santo's first full season in charge after he chose to stay on and try to win promotion back at the first attempt. The summer's business ran almost entirely one way out of the building: Mateus Fernandes left for Tottenham Hotspur, Crysencio Summerville for Al Hilal and Callum Wilson for Brentford, against barely any incoming business to replace them.
