Sheffield Wednesday beat Bromley 7-2, and by the time Barry scored twice in four minutes either side of the interval — on 46 and 49 — the match had already gone. Slattery opened on seven minutes, Burstow made it two on 31 and Lowe three on 45; Lowe added his second on 73 and Otegbayo the seventh on 81. Bromley scored on 85 through Adeboyejo from the penalty spot and again on 87.
Stockport County were nearly as emphatic, beating Wycombe Wanderers 5-1. Wood scored on 16 and 23, Woodrow pulled one back for Wycombe on 43, and Wootton, Diamond and Mandron added the rest on 56, 61 and 89. Blackpool beat Peterborough United 4-0 with two goals in a minute — Williams on 19, Charles on 20 — and further goals from Anderson on 56 and Yates on 72.
Cambridge United led Huddersfield Town with ten minutes to go and lost 2-1. Bradshaw scored on 80, Taylor equalised on 82 and won it from the penalty spot on 89. Notts County came from behind against Burton Albion: Delap put Burton ahead on 22, Smyth equalised on 78, Tilt was sent off on 83, and Smyth converted a penalty on 84 for 2-1.
Leyton Orient lost 3-1 at home to Barnsley, who scored through Kirk on 15, McGeehan from the spot on 64 and Cleary on 76 before Oyekunle replied on 85. Plymouth Argyle beat Bradford City 2-0 with goals from Pleguezuelo on 44 and White on 50, either side of the interval.
Stevenage and Doncaster Rovers drew 2-2 with all four goals inside twenty-five minutes of the second half: Magennis on 57, Senior on 70, Bailey on 80 and Sanderson on 82. Milton Keynes Dons and Leicester City finished goalless, the one fixture of the nine that produced nothing at all — on an afternoon that produced thirty-one goals everywhere else.
