Stevenage beat Luton Town 2-1 at the Lamex Stadium on 10 September 2026, a game that turned when Luton head coach Jack Wilshere was sent to the stands minutes after the opening goal. Our model correctly favoured Stevenage at 43%.

Daniel Kemp put the hosts ahead in the 23rd minute, and Wilshere was dismissed the following minute after the Luton bench reacted angrily to a non-call for a foul on Liam Walsh in the build-up to the goal, with the referee deeming his reaction to the decision unacceptable. Luton played the remaining hour with their manager watching from the stands, and Stevenage doubled their lead through Josh Magennis in the 70th minute before Mads Andersen's deflected effort pulled one back for the visitors five minutes later.

Luton, playing a second consecutive season in League One after successive relegations from the Premier League and then the Championship, remain without a win under Wilshere in the early weeks of the campaign. Stevenage manager Alex Revell, in his third season in charge, had said beforehand that his side needed to focus on "the basics and the fundamentals" after praising their heart and intensity in recent results.
