Seven from twelve for the model, its best return of the week, and its home calls mostly held. Swindon Town beat Colchester United 3-1 on an Aaron Drinan hat-trick; Tranmere beat Oldham 2-0; Bristol Rovers edged Rotherham 1-0 through Tommy Leigh; Fleetwood Town kept their unbeaten start with a 2-0 win over Shrewsbury; Salford beat Port Vale 1-0 through a Joe Powell free-kick; Accrington beat Crawley 3-2 with a Charlie Caton double; and Northampton beat Newport 1-0 through Joe O'Brien Whitmarsh's 87th-minute goal.
The misses were the draws and one away rout. Gillingham won 4-1 at Rochdale, where the model had backed the hosts, a James Brophy double the pick and Ed Francis's second booking ending Rochdale's hopes. Chesterfield and Barnet shared six in a 3-3 draw, Louie Marsh scoring twice and Joel Randall levelling in stoppage time; Cheltenham drew 2-2 with Grimsby after leading twice through Charlie McCann and an Andreas Weimann penalty; Crewe drew 1-1 with York City; and Exeter and Walsall finished goalless.
