Premier League REVIEW 6 Sep 2026: the model split the Sunday — right on Arsenal, wrong at Everton

The model had Arsenal at home and Arsenal delivered, 2-1 against Chelsea to stay perfect — though they made it hard. Morgan Rogers, signed by Chelsea from Aston Villa over the summer after topping Arsenal's own wishlist, volleyed the visitors ahead inside two minutes from a Reece James free-kick, the first goal Arsenal had conceded all season. An Arsenal reply was ruled out for a Konsa offside, but Kai Havertz levelled on 25 minutes, drilling low after Declan Rice released him — his third goal in three league starts against his former club — and Martin Odegaard settled it five minutes into the second half, firing high past Emiliano Martinez. David Raya turned an Estevao curler off the top corner late, and it boiled over on 83 minutes when Rogers was booked for squaring up to Rice.

At Everton the model backed the home side and got a draw instead: 2-2 with Man United, the point going to a man who had barely trained with his new club. Bryan Mbeumo cut in to put United ahead within a minute of the restart, Tyrique George levelled for Everton on 83, and Benjamin Sesko looked to have won it, heading Luke Shaw's cross past Jordan Pickford on 88 — until Ainsley Maitland-Niles, a deadline-day debutant, lashed a first-time strike from 30 yards with virtually the last kick. David Moyes could only grin at his new man: "Haven't had much training time with him, but now we do know what he can do from outside the box."
