MLS PREVIEW 22 Aug 2026: Messi's Miami Host Toronto FC as 13-Game MLS Card Unfolds

The pick of Saturday's 13 MLS fixtures sends Toronto FC to Nu Stadium to face Inter Miami, who lead the all-time head-to-head 10-2-2 from fourteen meetings and beat Toronto 4-2 away when the sides last met in May. Our model favours Inter Miami at 62% here. Miami go in off a 2-2 draw with Philadelphia Union that left them without a win in four matches across all competitions, while Toronto fought back for a 3-3 draw against Charlotte FC in their last outing. Inter Miami are now managed by Guillermo Hoyos, who took over in April after Javier Mascherano's departure, while Toronto's Robin Fraser was left to reflect after May's defeat that "it was very disappointing."

Five more games kick off in the same early window. CF Montreal host LA Galaxy at Saputo Stadium with our model giving the home side a 42% edge, and Charlotte are at home to D.C. United with Charlotte favoured at 52%. Vancouver host Dallas at BC Place with our model favouring the home side at 54%, before three games kick off together: LAFC host Portland at BMO Stadium (LAFC favoured at 54%), San Diego host Colorado at Snapdragon Stadium (San Diego favoured at 45%), and San Jose host Minnesota at PayPal Park, with our model giving San Jose a narrow 49% edge.
