An MLS matchday that looked settled by the 80th minute was rewritten in the stoppage time of three of its games. Orlando City and FC Dallas rescued draws in the closing seconds and Austin FC took a win at the death; St Louis City SC, held to one of those late draws, kept its unbeaten league run alive.

St Louis City SC 3-3 FC Dallas was the fullest illustration. Simon Becher put the hosts ahead inside three minutes, Shaq Moore levelled for Dallas on the quarter-hour, and Daniel Edelman and Carlo Holse struck either side of the hour to make it 3-1. It should have been the end of it. Sebastien Ibeagha pulled one back in the 81st minute and Logan Farrington equalised in the seventh minute of stoppage time, Petar Musa the provider. The point kept St Louis's unbeaten league run intact under Yoann Damet, and cost them the two that would have felt fairer.

Minnesota United 3-3 Orlando City turned on a four-minute spell that turned the game twice over. Daryl Dike headed Orlando in front before the break, Antoine Griezmann - a goal and an assist on the night, and scoring freely since his move - made it 2-0 just past the hour, and the match looked done. Then Marcus Caldeira, Anthony Markanich and Kelvin Yeboah scored between the 71st and 75th minutes to send Minnesota 3-2 ahead. Tyrese Spicer had the last word, finishing Griezmann's lofted pass three minutes into stoppage time for 3-3.

Austin FC left Portland with the win the Timbers thought they had rescued. Facundo Torres put the visitors ahead in the 25th minute and Antony equalised from the penalty spot with a minute of normal time to go, only for Oleksandr Svatok to bundle in a corner three minutes into stoppage time. Portland Timbers 1-2 Austin FC, decided at the death.

San Diego FC 3-1 LA Galaxy was the performance of the night, and it came a man short. Elias Achouri opened inside eleven minutes and Kieran Sargeant made it two just after the interval before Jeppe Tverskov was sent off for a second booking. A goal and a man down, LA Galaxy pulled one back through Hirving Lozano - but San Diego scored a third through Amahl Pellegrino while short-handed. 'It takes guts, man. It takes resiliency,' said head coach Mikey Varas.

Nashville SC 4-0 FC Cincinnati was more comfortable than a 4-0 usually reads, and at the same time less. Sam Surridge headed the hosts in front before half-time from a Cristian Espinoza cross, Hany Mukhtar added the second, and Bryan Acosta and Ahmed Qasem finished it in the last minutes. Cincinnati created enough to have troubled a tidier scoreline - two efforts were cleared off the line - and Pat Noonan called it plainly 'a bad night.'

Vancouver Whitecaps won 3-0 at Sporting Kansas City with Thomas Muller at the centre of it. The former Bayern Munich forward converted a first-half penalty, Brian White - back from a quad injury - headed the second two minutes after the break, and Rayan Elloumi finished from Muller's cross late on. Sporting KC 0-3 Vancouver Whitecaps; the quick second goal, Raphael Wicky said, 'takes a lot of hope away.'

Colorado Rapids 1-0 Real Salt Lake was settled by a single header. Reggie Cannon met Youssef Maziz's corner in the 58th minute for the only goal, and the Rapids' fifth home shutout in a row - with Adam Beaudry pressed into a first start since 2025 after an injury to Nico Hansen - took the Rocky Mountain Cup for a third straight year.

Houston Dynamo 0-0 San Jose Earthquakes was the night's one goalless game, and San Jose earned it: they held Houston without a single shot on target, a first clean sheet for Angus Gunn and the reward for Bruce Arena's first three-man back line of the season. Jonathan Bond kept Houston in it at the other end, and a stoppage-time header off the San Jose crossbar was as close as the game came to a winner.

Columbus Crew 1-3 New England Revolution carried a subplot that never made it onto the field. Daniel Gazdag, bought out by Columbus days earlier and expected at New England, was not registered in time to face his former club - and the Revolution did not need him to be. Brais Mendez gave Columbus an eighth-minute lead that New England overturned before half-time through Matt Polster and Dor Turgeman, and Carles Gil, with a goal and two assists, chipped in the third to close it out.
