Scottish Championship PREVIEW 22 Aug 2026: Livingston Host Dunfermline as Championship Table Takes Shape

Livingston's first home league game since their relegation from the Premiership brings Dunfermline Athletic to the Set Fare Arena, and there is little between the two so far. Livingston sit fifth with three points from two games, a win and a defeat leaving their goal difference level, while Dunfermline are a point back in sixth after two draws that have also left them at 0. Our model makes Livingston favourites at 52%. Livingston go into the weekend under Glenn Whelan, appointed head coach at the end of May in his first full-time job in charge of a club, while Dunfermline are managed by Neil Lennon, who took the Fife club to a Scottish Cup final last season before losing 3-1 to Celtic.

At Cappielow Park, Greenock Morton host Arbroath with both clubs still looking for their first win of the campaign. Morton are bottom of the table with two defeats from two and a goal difference of minus three, while Arbroath, managed by David Gold, are eighth with a single point and a goal difference of minus two. Ian Murray's Morton get the nod from our model at 45%.

Queen's Park entertain Stenhousemuir at the City Stadium in a match our model rates too close to call, with a draw the most favoured outcome at 36%. Queen's Park have lost both their opening fixtures and prop up the table alongside Morton on goal difference, while Stenhousemuir, up in the top three after a win and a draw, are already showing the form that carried them up from League One last season.

Raith Rovers and Ayr United meet level on four points apiece, Raith fourth and Ayr second in the early Championship table, both having won once and drawn once so far. Ayr are managed by Gary Naysmith, who left Stenhousemuir for Somerset Park in the summer. Our model gives Raith Rovers a narrow edge at 46%.
