Scottish League One's card on 12 September 2026 sees Airdrieonians host Alloa, East Kilbride host Peterhead, Montrose host Cove Rangers and Queen of the South host East Fife; Ross County's fixture against Hamilton has been postponed, with County instead in League Cup quarter-final action against Hibernian.
Airdrieonians head coach John Rankin said his side "need to be on top of our game to go and get anything from it" against Alloa. Airdrie head into the match on the back of a 1-0 win over St Mirren B in the KDM Evolution Trophy, which ended a five-match winless run and saw Dapo Mebude score his first goal for the club; Callum Burnside and Josh Gentles are back available having missed that tie, though Robbie Mahon remains out with a calf injury. Alloa manager Andy Graham was confirmed to remain in charge for the season, and his side arrive on the back of a 1-1 draw away to Cove Rangers, with loanee Josh Farquhar recalled by parent club St Mirren before the transfer deadline. Alloa beat Airdrie 3-1 on aggregate in last season's play-off semi-final, a result that contributed to Airdrie's relegation.
East Kilbride manager Mick Kennedy admitted to "soul-searching" after a 1-0 defeat to Hamilton left his side on three straight league defeats for the first time in his managerial career, following losses to Ross County and Montrose, with the squad hit by injuries through that run. Kennedy is set to hand a debut to 17-year-old Celtic loanee Liam Kennedy against Peterhead, saying: "He will definitely get on against Peterhead and the plan is to integrate him into our team... he is more than capable of playing in League One comfortably, he is a top, top player." Peterhead arrive on the back of a 0-3 home defeat to Montrose.
Montrose, managed by Stewart Petrie, host Cove Rangers under Paul Hartley having beaten Queen of the South 2-1 at home before losing 3-0 away to Alloa; the club has brought in Ashley Robertson on loan from Hearts until January and sent Ross Clark to Lochee United. Cove Rangers, who drew 1-1 away to Alloa in their last league outing, have added forward Afonso Lindo and loanee Joe Chalmers to the squad and brought former player Greg Stewart back to the club as part of the coaching staff.
Queen of the South, under player-manager Nicky Clark, beat Airdrieonians 2-1 at Palmerston Park in their last league match, debuts for new signings Shaun Want and Connor Young, though Clark himself was forced off with a rib injury at half-time. Clark had made three changes for that game, including recalling Niall Rogerson from injury, after a loss to Montrose the previous week. East Fife, managed by Dick Campbell, come into the match off a 2-2 home draw with Ross County in which Cammie Ross scored both East Fife goals, Kieran Phillips equalising for Ross County in stoppage time.
