Scottish League Two REVIEW 22 Aug 2026: Clyde Go Top as Spartans and Elgin Share Six Goals in League Two

The wildest afternoon in Scottish League Two belonged to Ainslie Park, where Spartans and Elgin City shared six goals in a 3-3 draw. Marc McNulty put the home side ahead after 30 minutes, but Elgin tore back into it through J. MacIver's penalty three minutes later and then two goals in six minutes from Kane Hester, either side of the interval, to lead 3-1. Spartans hauled themselves level in the second half, McNulty converting a penalty on 66 minutes before R. Dinanga's 78th-minute strike completed the recovery and salvaged a point apiece.

Kelty came from behind to beat Dumbarton 3-1 at New Central Park. L. McIntosh's penalty had the visitors ahead inside 16 minutes, but Kelty responded instantly: J. Hislop levelled on 19 minutes and L. Moore put the home side in front a minute later, before A. Ferguson added a third early in the second half. Our model had made Kelty favourites at 61%, and so it proved. Dumbarton, who had been docked points for entering administration last season, sit bottom of the early table on three points with a goal difference of minus six.

Clyde moved to the top of League Two with a comfortable 3-0 win over Forfar Athletic at home. J. Hilton opened the scoring after 11 minutes and S. Williamson added two more either side of half-time, on 35 and 61 minutes, to make it back-to-back home routs for the Bully Wee. Our model backed Clyde at 58% and got it right; they now lead the division on nine points from four games with a goal difference of five.

Edinburgh City edged out Annan Athletic 1-0 at Meadowbank, the only goal arriving deep into stoppage time of a tight contest when I. Lawson struck on 89 minutes. Our model had given the home side only a 46% chance, the lowest winning probability of the day to come off. Annan remain second bottom of the table on three points.

Stirling Albion and Stranraer shared four goals in a 2-2 draw at Forthbank. Stranraer led 2-0 inside half an hour through L. Dobbie and E. Dunne, before Stirling fought back after the break with goals from J. Allan and D. Dobbie to force a share of the points.
