Scottish League Two's card on 12 September 2026 sees Annan Athletic host Elgin City, Clyde host Kelty Hearts, Edinburgh City host Stirling Albion, Spartans host Forfar Athletic and Stranraer host Dumbarton.
Annan Athletic, under player-manager Willie Gibson, lost 2-1 to Kelty Hearts in their last league outing, with captain Tommy Muir heading an equaliser from a Gibson corner before a late Kelty winner; Annan beat Motherwell B 4-0 in the KDM Evolution Trophy in between. The club has sent three players out on loan since: Brannan McDermott to Glenafton Athletic, and Daniel Martins and Lennon Connolly both to Gala Fairydean Rovers, all until January. Elgin City, now under Stefan Laird after Allan Hale's departure, lost 2-1 away to Dumbarton in their last match, with J MacIver scoring a late consolation. Laird had set an initial 40-point survival target for the season before assessing how high the team could climb.
Clyde host Kelty Hearts at the top of the table having beaten Edinburgh City 3-2 in their last league match. Kelty manager Tam O'Ware called Clyde "up there with one of the favourites for the league... they've got some incredible players, well organised," while insisting "I believe that if we show up, we can beat anybody on any given day." O'Ware is missing several first-team players: Fin Moffett is out for four to six weeks after being forced off against Annan Athletic, Ryan Shanley faces a similar lay-off after rolling an ankle in training, and Dylan Corr, Lewis Moore and Theo McCormick are also unavailable. "We're down bodies. We're down three or four starters," O'Ware said. Kelty are still seeking their first away win of the season, having beaten Annan Athletic 2-1 in their last match.
Edinburgh City, managed by Michael McIndoe, lost 3-2 at home to Clyde in their last match, McIndoe left "bemused" by two late penalty awards after his side had led 2-1 with eight minutes to go. Stirling Albion lost 0-2 at home to Spartans in their last match, Mark Stowe and a stoppage-time Bradley Whyte goal doing the damage. Spartans themselves go into their trip to Forfar with head coach Douglas Samuel on extended leave; sporting director Mixu Paatelainen is overseeing the coaching staff in his absence. Forfar Athletic lost 0-3 at home to Stranraer in their last match, and have brought in goalkeeper Theo Simpson on loan from Aberdeen and Luca Perrie and Ethan Crombie on cooperation loans from Dundee, with regular keeper Marc McCallum still working back from injury.
Stranraer, unbeaten in their last league outings and having drawn a club-record-equalling 14 times this season, host Dumbarton off a 0-0 draw with Annan Athletic. On-loan Hibernian academy defender Joe McGrath said of Dumbarton: "They will be fighting for their lives trying to get any points that they can pick up... they are at home as well, so that will give them a bit of a boost," adding Stranraer "will definitely be looking to go there, get three points, keep this unbeaten streak going." Dumbarton manager Frank McKeown and assistant Mark Docherty both played more than 230 games between them for Stranraer, giving the fixture a return-to-a-former-club angle for the visiting management team; McKeown signed a two-year contract extension in April 2026 after leading Dumbarton to safety and the club's longest unbeaten run in 14 years, and has since won a Manager of the Month award.
