Two calls, two right for the model — though Hearts made it sweat. Backed at home against Dundee, they needed until the sixth minute of stoppage time to win 2-1. Bradley Fink had put Dundee ahead in the 17th, a deft touch over Beau Reus, and Steven Pressley's side deserved their interval lead. Hearts levelled only in the 84th, Claudio Braga sending the goalkeeper the wrong way from the penalty spot after a handball on the referee's monitor. Then Dundee came apart: Zan Besir was sent off in the 90+1, a yellow upgraded to red for a challenge on Josh McPake, and deep into stoppage time substitute Sabah Kerjota drilled the winner — his first for the club, and a booking for the celebration — a tenth straight home league win. Wouter Vrancken was blunt on the display: "We never gave up, we kept pushing and got what we deserved." Pressley counted a brutal cost, with Joe Westley and Finlay Robertson carried off on stretchers and Ryan Finnigan also forced off.
The other call was as comfortable as the first was frantic. St Johnstone, backed at home, beat Hibernian 2-1, and Josh Fowler owned it: he opened from close range in the 17th, Nathan Lowe levelled with his first league goal in the 29th, and Fowler restored the lead from the penalty spot in the 41st after a foul by Martin Boyle. It was St Johnstone's first win since the opening weekend, and no relief for Hibernian, who came looking for a reaction after the derby and left with another loss.
