Recent seasons
Bromley spent most of the last six years in the National League, the fifth tier, finishing seventh in 2020/21, eighth in 2021/22 and seventh in 2022/23. In 2023/24 they were third with 81 points from 46 games and went up through the play-offs, beating Solihull Moors at Wembley on 5 May 2024 to reach the Football League for the first time in the club's 132-year history.
Their first EFL season, 2024/25, ended eleventh in League Two on 66 points from 46 games: 17 wins, 15 draws, 14 defeats. Michael Cheek scored 25 league goals, 26 in all competitions. In 2025/26 they won the division with 87 points, 24 wins, 15 draws and seven defeats, scoring 71 and conceding 46. Promotion was sealed on 18 April 2026 and the title confirmed at the start of May, taking them into the third tier for the first time.
Honours and landmarks
The League Two championship of 2025/26 is the club's only Football League title. Before that the significant national honour was the FA Trophy, won in 2021/22. Bromley also won the FA Amateur Cup three times, in 1910/11, 1937/38 and 1948/49, and were Isthmian League champions in 1908/09, 1909/10, 1953/54 and 1960/61 and Athenian League champions in 1922/23, 1948/49 and 1950/51.
Record attendance is 10,789 against a Nigeria XI on 24 September 1948, far beyond anything the modern ground could hold. George Brown holds both the appearance record, across a career from 1938 to 1961, and the goalscoring record with 570.
Notable scorelines
Record victory: 13-1 against Redhill in 1945/46. Record defeat: 1-11 against Barking in 1933/34. Both come from the amateur era and neither has a published exact date in the sources consulted.
The 2024 National League play-off final at Wembley on 5 May 2024 is the modern reference point. Bromley drew 2-2 with Solihull Moors after extra time in front of 23,374, Michael Cheek scoring twice, the second a penalty, with Joe Sbarra and Jamey Osborne replying. Bromley won the shootout 4-3, captain Byron Webster converting the decisive kick. The FA Trophy final of 22 May 2022 was also at Wembley, in front of 46,111: Bromley beat Wrexham 1-0 with a Cheek goal, Wrexham having a late equaliser ruled out for offside.
The best recent cup result is the EFL Cup first round of 12 August 2025, when Bromley drew 1-1 at home with Ipswich Town, then a Championship club fresh out of the Premier League. Ayodeji Elerewe scored for Bromley on 45 minutes, Ben Johnson equalised on 53, and Bromley won the shootout 5-4, Marcus Ifill scoring the winning penalty. The heaviest recent beating was 0-5 at Port Vale on 12 April 2025; the biggest recent win 4-0 against Accrington Stanley on 5 April 2025.
Head-to-head notes
No aggregated all-time head-to-head record for Bromley could be established from any accessible source, so what follows is limited to verified recent meetings with 2026/27 League One opponents.
Notts County beat Bromley 4-1 on 23 August 2025, Matthew Dennis scoring twice and Ben Thompson once, with Idris Odutayo replying late for Bromley. Bromley and Cambridge United drew 0-0 at Hayes Lane in April 2026. Bromley beat Milton Keynes Dons 2-1 at home during the 2025/26 League Two campaign. Wycombe Wanderers knocked Bromley out of the EFL Cup second round on 26 August 2025, the tie finishing 1-1 before Wycombe won 5-4 on penalties. Bromley also met AFC Wimbledon and Mansfield Town in League Two across the last two seasons.
For every other League One club this season, including Barnsley and cup opponents Reading, no head-to-head record was established.
Right now (2026/27)
Andy Woodman is the manager. He was appointed in late March 2021, arriving from Arsenal where he was head of goalkeeping, and replacing Neil Smith with the club fighting relegation from the National League. He has since taken Bromley from that position to the third tier.
The summer recruitment was heavy. Midfielder Kamil Conteh joined from Bristol Rovers on 9 July 2026 for an undisclosed fee. Goalkeeper Shamal George arrived free from Wycombe Wanderers on 10 July, the same day as centre-back Chanse Headman from Harrogate Town for an undisclosed fee and left-back Jacob Mendy free from Peterborough United. Centre-back Deon Woodman came from Wealdstone on 11 July, and striker Victor Adeboyejo free from Mansfield Town on 13 July. Hayden Bullas signed from Leyton Orient on 24 July and JJ McKiernan from Lincoln City on 27 July. Two loans followed: winger Ethon Archer from Luton Town on 11 July and defender Richard Taylor from Bolton Wanderers on 25 July.
Departures were mostly squad clearance. Kyle Cameron went to Newport County on 29 June, and on 30 June Brooklyn Ilunga joined Hartlepool United, Harry Lee went to Gosport Borough, goalkeeper Sam Long to Salford City and Idris Odutayo to Dundee. Jude Arthurs joined Crawley Town on 3 July and Sam German went to Walton and Hersham the same day.
Pre-season began with a 4-0 win at Carshalton Athletic on 4 July. A trip to Portugal brought a 1-3 defeat to Sporting CP B on 14 July and a 4-1 win over West Bromwich Albion on 17 July. Bromley then beat Crystal Palace 3-0 at home on 25 July and drew 1-1 with Millwall on 28 July.
Competitive football starts with the EFL Cup. Bromley host Reading, fellow League One, at Hayes Lane on Saturday 8 August 2026 at 3pm, the tie drawn in the southern section on 25 June 2026. The League One campaign opens away at Barnsley, at Oakwell on Saturday 15 August 2026 at 3pm.
