The club
Connah's Quay Nomads were founded in July 1946 as Connah's Quay Juniors in the Deeside town of Connah's Quay, Flintshire, north-east Wales, adopting the Nomads name in 1951. They are known as the Nomads and play in an all-red home kit with an all-yellow away kit, a combination in use since 2013-14. Their traditional home was the Deeside Stadium from 1998, but tenancy problems with the stadium's owners forced a move from the 2023-24 season, and the club has since played its home games at the Essity Stadium, Cae-y-Castell, in the neighbouring town of Flint. The current manager is John Disney, appointed in May 2025.
Because they now play their home games in Flint, Connah's Quay Nomads are easily mistaken for Flint Town United, whose ground the Essity Stadium actually is; the two are separate clubs and traditional rivals, and Nomads are the tenants there, not the owners. Nomads are also not to be confused with any other club carrying "Nomads" in its name in lower Welsh football.
Recent seasons
Connah's Quay Nomads won the Cymru Premier in 2019-20 and 2020-21, and finished as runners-up in 2025-26. They won the Welsh Cup in 2023-24, their second win in the competition after 2017-18.

In 2019-20 Connah's Quay Nomads beat Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock 2-0 away in Ayrshire, completing a 3-2 aggregate win in the Europa League first qualifying round, one of the better-known European results by a Welsh club against Scottish opposition.
