The club
FC Dila Gori were founded in 1949 in the city of Gori, playing under the name Dinamo Gori until 1961. The name Dila means "morning" and comes from a poem of that title written by Joseph Stalin, who was born in Gori; the club took it when it separated from the wider Dinamo sports society. Dila should not be confused with Dinamo Tbilisi, the much larger Georgian club from the capital, nor with Dinamo Batumi, the Adjaran club that has been Georgia's leading side in recent seasons; Dila is the Gori club and has no connection to either. There is no other club named Dila in Georgian football, so the name itself is not shared, but the Dinamo-derived history means the club is sometimes lumped in with the country's several Dinamo sides in casual references, and it should not be.
The home ground is the Tengiz Burjanadze Stadium in Gori, with a capacity of 5,000. The club plays in red and light blue. The head coach is the Greek Akis Vavalis, appointed in June 2026, working under chairman Davit Koziashvili.
