The club
Egnatia were founded on 15 September 1934 at Rrogozhine, on the coastal plain south of Tirana, as 22 Shtatori Rrogozhine. They became Vullneti Rrogozhine in 1991 and took the name Egnatia in 1998, after the Via Egnatia, the Roman road that ran through the region. They play at the Egnatia Arena; the capacity is given as 5,000 in the source read here, with 4,000 cited elsewhere in the same article. The colours are dark green with black shorts and socks, with a white change kit. No established nickname was confirmed from the sources read here.

Egnatia are the dominant force in Albanian football at present and have won the last three Kategoria Superiore titles: 2023/24 with 67 points from 38 matches, 2024/25 with 63 points from 38, and 2025/26. The 2025/26 points figure differs between the sources read here, one giving 68 from 39 matches and the other 57, because the league used a final-four format in which points were halved and rounded down before the deciding round. Egnatia's European history is short and belongs entirely to the last four seasons, and its recurring feature is the shootout. Their first tie was the 2023/24 Conference League first qualifying round against Ararat-Armenia: 4-4 at home after extra time, 1-1 away, 5-5 on aggregate, and Ararat-Armenia won 4-2 on penalties. In 2024/25 they entered the Champions League first qualifying round and drew Borac Banja Luka, winning 2-1 at home after extra time and losing 0-1 away for 2-2, with Borac winning 4-1 on penalties; dropping into the Conference League second qualifying round they then lost 1-2 on aggregate to Vikingur Reykjavik, beaten 0-2 at home and winning 1-0 in Iceland.
In 2025/26 the Champions League first qualifying round brought Breidablik, and a 1-0 home win was undone by a 0-5 defeat in Iceland. In the Conference League they beat Dinamo Minsk 3-0 on aggregate, 1-0 at home and 2-0 away, before going out in the third qualifying round to Olimpija Ljubljana, losing 2-4 at home after extra time and drawing 0-0 in Slovenia.
The 2026/27 campaign is better documented. As Albanian champions Egnatia entered the Champions League at the first qualifying round and beat Petrocub Hincesti 7-2 on aggregate, drawing 1-1 away on 8 July 2026 and winning 6-1 at home on 15 July 2026. In the second qualifying round they met Celje and could not be separated: 3-3 at home on 22 July 2026, then 2-2 in Celje on 28 July 2026, Geralb Smajli equalising in the 114th minute to force penalties, 5-5 on aggregate, with Celje winning the shootout 4-1. That is the third time in four seasons Egnatia have gone out on penalties, and it dropped them into the Europa League third qualifying round.
