Fulham

The club

Fulham were founded in 1879 as St Andrew's Cricket and Football Club, a church side in west London, and took the name Fulham in 1888. They play at Craven Cottage on the north bank of the Thames in Fulham, the ground they have occupied since 1896. Capacity is disputed between sources: Wikipedia's club infobox gives 27,782, while stadium guides give 29,600 following the completion of the rebuilt Riverside Stand. The club are known as the Cottagers, also simply the Whites, and play in white shirts with black shorts.

Recent seasons

Fulham have spent the last six seasons alternating between the two top divisions and then settling. They finished fourth in the Championship in 2019/20 with 81 points and went up through the play-offs. The Premier League season that followed, 2020/21, ended in relegation in 18th place on 28 points. They came straight back as Championship champions in 2021/22 with 90 points, and have been a Premier League club ever since: 10th with 52 points in 2022/23, 13th with 47 in 2023/24, 11th with 54 in 2024/25, and 11th again with 52 in 2025/26. The 2025/26 record was 15 wins, 7 draws and 16 defeats, 47 goals scored and 51 conceded. Home form carried them, 11 wins from 19 at Craven Cottage against only four away. Harry Wilson was the leading scorer with 10 league goals and 11 in all competitions. They reached the fifth round of the FA Cup and the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup.

Honours and landmarks

Fulham have never won a major national trophy. Their honours are the Southern League in 1905/06 and 1906/07, the Third Division South in 1931/32, and the second tier twice, in 1948/49 and 2021/22. They were FA Cup runners-up in 1975, losing to West Ham United, and reached the UEFA Europa League final in 2010, losing to Atletico Madrid. Record attendance at Craven Cottage is 49,335 against Millwall on 8 October 1938. Johnny Haynes holds the appearance record with 657 games, and Gordon Davies is the leading scorer with 178 goals in all competitions. The 2021/22 promotion side's 90 points is the club's highest league total in the period covered here; the 54 points of 2024/25 is their best in the Premier League era over the last six seasons.

Notable scorelines

Record victory: 10-2 against Torquay United in 1931/32. Record defeat: 0-6 against Newcastle United in the FA Cup semi-final of 1907/08. In 2025/26 the biggest win was 3-0 at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on 1 November 2025, and the heaviest defeats were 0-3 away to Manchester City on 11 February 2026 and 0-3 away to Arsenal on 2 May 2026. The west London derby against Brentford on 20 September 2025 finished 3-1 to Fulham.

Head-to-head notes

As a Premier League club Fulham face nineteen opponents, and published all-time records exist for only some of them. The one that matters first is Chelsea, whom they open against. The all-time derby record runs heavily Chelsea's way: 54 Chelsea wins to 13 for Fulham with 27 draws across 94 competitive meetings, the fixture dating to a 3-0 Chelsea win in the First Division on 10 November 1907. Chelsea won the most recent meeting reported in that record, 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on 30 August 2025. Search results also refer to a Fulham win at Craven Cottage in January 2026, but the reported scoreline differs between sources and it could not be settled, so it is not stated here. Against Manchester United, the two sides drew 1-1 at Old Trafford on 24 August 2025. No published all-time head-to-head records were established for Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Liverpool, or the three promoted clubs, Coventry City, Ipswich Town and Hull City. Coventry return to the top flight after 25 years, Ipswich after one, and Hull after nine, so recent Premier League meetings with them are limited or non-existent.

Right now (2026/27)

Alvaro Arbeloa is the head coach, appointed on a three-year contract starting 7 July 2026. He replaced Marco Silva, who left after five years to join Benfica. Arbeloa, 43, is a former Real Madrid full-back who had been managing in the Real Madrid youth and interim set-up; his appointment was reported as being backed by references from Real Madrid.

The confirmed summer business as of 22 July 2026 was thin. In: striker Jonah Kusi-Asare from Bayern Munich for £5.2m on 27 June. Out: Raul Jimenez on a free to Wolverhampton Wanderers on 1 July, Harry Wilson on a free to Leeds United on 8 July, Issa Diop to Ipswich Town on 22 July for a fee reported variously as undisclosed and as £8.5m, goalkeeper Steven Benda released, and goalkeeper Alfie McNally loaned to York City. Press reports through July linked Fulham with a double deal for Real Madrid forwards driven personally by Arbeloa, but no such signing was confirmed at the time of writing. Net spend on confirmed deals was £5.2m out.

Pre-season has been mixed: a 0-2 defeat to Norwich City and a 1-1 draw with Al-Ahli, with further friendlies against Farense, Crystal Palace, Stuttgart and Malaga scheduled through late July and August.

The 2026/27 Premier League begins on 21 August 2026, later than usual after the summer World Cup. Fulham's first match is at home to Chelsea on Monday 24 August at 8pm, on Sky Sports. They then go to Sunderland on 29 August, host Crystal Palace on 5 September, travel to Liverpool on 12 September and host Manchester United on 19 September.
