The club
Fudbalski klub Partizan were founded in Belgrade on 4 October 1945. They play in black and white and are known as Parni valjak, the Steamroller, and as Crno-beli, the Black-Whites. The home ground is the Partizan Stadium, formerly the JNA Stadium, capacity 29,775. The president is Rasim Ljajic and the head coach is Sasa Ilic, who holds the club's appearance record with 874 games across two spells, from 1996 to 2005 and from 2010 to 2019.
The defining fixture is the Eternal Derby against Red Star Belgrade. The largest attendance for it was around 100,000, with 90,142 paid tickets, at the Red Star Stadium on 7 November 1976. Partizan's biggest win in the derby is 7-1, at the Partizan Stadium on 6 December 1953.
Recent seasons
In 2025/26 Partizan finished third in the Serbian SuperLiga, 73 points from 37 matches across the regular season and championship round, 22 wins, 7 draws and 8 defeats, 72 goals scored and 45 conceded. Red Star were champions on 86 points and Vojvodina second on 76. Partizan had been third in the regular season too, on 61 points from 30 games.

Honours and landmarks
Forty-six official titles in all: 27 national championships, 16 national cups, one national super cup, one Yugoslav Summer Champions League and one Mitropa Cup.
The championships break down as eleven Yugoslav First League titles between 1946-47 and 1986-87, eight First League of FR Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro titles between 1992-93 and 2004-05, which is a record, and eight Serbian SuperLiga titles, the last in 2016-17. The cups are six Yugoslav Cups, three FR Yugoslavia Cups and seven Serbian Cups, the last in 2018-19. Partizan won the Yugoslav Super Cup in 1989 and the Mitropa Cup in 1978.
Partizan played in the very first European Champion Clubs' Cup tie, against Sporting CP in 1955, and they were runners-up in the 1965-66 European Cup, the first club from south-eastern Europe and from the Balkans to reach that final.
Notable scorelines
The first European Cup match, regarded as the opening whistle of UEFA club competition, finished 3-3 with Sporting; Partizan won the return in Belgrade 5-2.
The 1965-66 European Cup run is the club's reference point. Partizan beat Nantes 2-0 and 2-2, Werder Bremen 3-0 and 1-0, then Sparta Prague, and in the semi-final beat Manchester United, with George Best and Bobby Charlton, 2-0 at the JNA Stadium on 13 April 1966 and lost 1-0 at Old Trafford to go through 2-1. The final was at the Heysel Stadium in Brussels on 11 May 1966 against Real Madrid. Velibor Vasovic put Partizan ahead and they led until the 70th minute before losing 2-1.
In the 2003/04 Champions League group stage Partizan did not lose at home, drawing 0-0 with a Real Madrid side containing Zidane, Ronaldo, Figo, Roberto Carlos, Raúl and Beckham, and 1-1 with José Mourinho's Porto. In 2010/11 they reached the group stage again by beating Anderlecht on penalties after 2-2 draws in both legs, Cléo scoring twice.

European record
Partizan are one of the most experienced clubs in this competition pool. Beyond 1966 and the two Champions League group campaigns already described, three results matter for context in the current qualifying rounds.
In the 2011/12 Champions League second qualifying round Partizan beat Shkëndija 5-0 on aggregate, 4-0 in Belgrade and 1-0 in Skopje, in the Macedonian club's first ever European tie.
In the 1999/2000 Champions League first qualifying round Partizan beat Flora 10-1 on aggregate, 4-1 in Tallinn and 6-0 in Belgrade, still Flora's heaviest European defeat.
In the 2021/22 Europa Conference League group stage Partizan and Flora met again and the Estonians won 1-0 in Tallinn on matchday five, the first win by an Estonian club in a UEFA group stage; Partizan won the return 2-0 and finished second in Group B. In the knockout phase Partizan beat Sparta Prague 1-0 at the Stadion Letná through Queensy Menig on 17 February 2022 and 2-1 at home a week later, the clubs' first meeting since 1966.

The tie they are in is the Conference League third qualifying round against Tobol of Kazakhstan. Partizan won the first leg 3-0 at the Partizan Stadium on 6 August 2026 in front of 10,367. Demba Seck scored on 32 minutes, Ibrahim Zubairu on 64 and Chaka Traorè in the fourth minute of stoppage time. Luís Godinho of Portugal refereed. The second leg is at the Kostanay Central Stadium on 13 August 2026, referee Daniele Chiffi of Italy. The winner faces Getafe in the play-off round on 20 and 27 August.
