FK Sutjeska Niksic
Also written as Sutjeska.
The club
Fudbalski klub Sutjeska were founded in 1920 in Niksic, Montenegro, originally as SK Hajduk before becoming SK Hercegovac in 1930. The club was refounded after the Second World War in 1945 under the name Sutjeska, in honour of the Yugoslav partisans killed in the Battle of the Sutjeska river against German and Axis forces in 1943; their first post-war match was a 4-2 defeat to FK Buducnost on 3 May 1945. They play at the Niksic City Stadium, known locally as "Kraj Bistrice," which was built in 1946 with an original capacity of around 15,000, was renovated in 2001 to roughly 10,800, and was reduced again to its current capacity of 5,214 seats to meet UEFA requirements after Montenegrin independence. Floodlights were installed in 2015, with the first night match played there on 7 August 2016. The club plays in blue and white and is nicknamed Plavo-bijeli (the Blue-Whites) or simply Plavi (the Blues), with white and red as the away colours.
This dossier is about FK Sutjeska Niksic, the football section of the Sutjeska Niksic multi-sport club (which also has basketball and handball sections under the same name). It is not about FK Sutjeska Foca, an unrelated football club from Foca in Bosnia and Herzegovina that carries the same name for the same historical reason — both clubs were named for the Battle of the Sutjeska. The two have no organisational connection and play in different countries.
The head coach is Milorad Peković. The club president is Miomir Bakrac. Full and exact tenure dates for the current coaching staff were not established from the sources read here.

Notable scorelines
The club's record win is a 4-1 away victory over city rivals Buducnost Podgorica during the 2019-20 season, described in club history as the biggest away win in the Niksic-Podgorica derby. The highest attendance recorded at the old Niksic City Stadium was around 19,000, for a match against Crvena Zvezda in the 1971-72 season. Exact all-time record wins and defeats in league and cup competition beyond these were not established from the sources read here.
European record
Sutjeska's European history has been mostly short campaigns against tougher-seeded opposition. In the 2003 UEFA Intertoto Cup they eliminated Racing FC Union Luxembourg before losing to Tampere United of Finland. They made their UEFA Europa League debut in 2009-10 after finishing third in the 2008-09 Montenegrin league, and were eliminated by FC Partizan Minsk of Belarus, drawing 1-1 away and losing 1-2 at home. In Champions League qualifying they were eliminated by Sheriff Tiraspol in both 2013-14 and 2014-15. In 2019-20 they beat Slovan Bratislava in the first leg of a qualifying tie before losing the tie and going out to APOEL of Cyprus in the next round. In the 2015-16 Europa League qualifying they played Debreceni VSC of Hungary, winning 2-0 at home and losing 0-3 away, going out on aggregate.
