S.P. Tre Fiori Football Club

Also written as SP Tre Fiori, Tre Fiori.

The club

Tre Fiori were founded in 1949 at the castle of Fiorentino in San Marino, by the brothers Pio and Bruno Ceccoli with Pierini Temeroli and Pasquale Lettoli, initially as G.S. Fiorentinese. They are the football section of the multi-sport club S.P. Tre Fiori, and are the most successful club in Sammarinese football with nine national championships and eight Coppa Titano wins. The colours are yellow and blue. The club ground is the Stadio di Fiorentino, capacity 1,000; European home matches are played at the San Marino Stadium in Serravalle. Marino Casali is president and Francesco Lo Russo the sporting director. The sharpest local rivalry is with neighbours Fiorentino.

Recent seasons

Tre Fiori won the Campionato Sammarinese in 2019-20 and again in 2025-26. The 2025-26 title was won on the final day, a draw with Pennarossa providing the point that settled it, with three clubs separated by three points at the end. Tre Fiori finished on 73 points from 22 wins, 7 draws and a single defeat, and led the table for all but one round.

Records of their placings in the intervening seasons were not confirmed from the sources read here, beyond the Coppa Titano win in 2021-22 and the Super Coppa Sammarinese wins in 2019 and 2022.

Honours and landmarks

Nine Campionato Sammarinese titles: 1987-88, 1992-93, 1993-94, 1994-95, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11, 2019-20 and 2025-26. Eight Coppa Titano wins: 1966, 1971, 1974, 1975, 1985, 2009-10, 2018-19 and 2021-22. Four Trofeo Federale: 1991, 1993, 2010 and 2011. Two Super Coppa Sammarinese: 2019 and 2022.

The first championship, in 1988, came on penalties, 6-5 against Virtus after a 3-3 draw in the play-off final. The 1990s brought three consecutive play-off final wins from 1993 to 1995. The 2010 Coppa Titano was won 2-1 against Tre Penne with an extra-time goal by the veteran striker Sossio Aruta.

The club's real landmarks are European firsts for San Marino. On 5 July 2018 Tre Fiori became the first Sammarinese club to win a European tie, beating Bala Town of Wales 3-1 on aggregate in the Europa League preliminary round. On 7 July 2022 they became the first Sammarinese club to win a European away match, 1-0 at Fola Esch in Luxembourg, and by winning the second leg 3-1 they reached a second qualifying round for the first time. They also hold the Sammarinese record for goals scored in European competition.

Notable scorelines

Record win: 3-0 at home to Bala Town in the 2018-19 Europa League preliminary round. The 3-1 home win over Fola Esch in 2022-23 equals it for goals scored. Record defeat: 0-7 away to Rudar Velenje in the first qualifying round of the 2018-19 Europa League, part of a 0-10 aggregate, the heaviest the club has suffered. Quotes

- Danilo Girolomoni, Tre Fiori head coach, on the club website before the Drita first leg, 5 August 2026. https://www.trefiori.sm/conference-league-il-tre-fiori-torna-in-europa-domani-sera-giovedi-6-agosto-alle-ore-21-al-san-marino-stadium-landata-del-terzo-turno-di-qualificazione-contro-il-drita/ - "La squadra ha trovato la sua identità e i nuovi si sono inseriti subito. - Matteo Prandelli, Tre Fiori forward, at the pre-match press conference, on the club website, 5 August 2026. https://www.trefiori.sm/conference-league-il-tre-fiori-torna-in-europa-domani-sera-giovedi-6-agosto-alle-ore-21-al-san-marino-stadium-landata-del-terzo-turno-di-qualificazione-contro-il-drita/ - "Daremo il massimo per provare a replicare la vittoria dell'andata di Conference dello scorso anno. Puntiamo sul gioco di squadra e su un'identità ormai consolidata. I presupposti per fare bene ci sono." - Matteo Prandelli, Tre Fiori forward, on the club website, 5 August 2026. https://www.trefiori.sm/conference-league-il-tre-fiori-torna-in-europa-domani-sera-giovedi-6-agosto-alle-ore-21-al-san-marino-stadium-landata-del-terzo-turno-di-qualificazione-contro-il-drita/ - "Abbiamo costruito una stagione straordinaria. - Francesco Lo Russo, Tre Fiori sporting director, on the club website, 17 June 2026. https://www.trefiori.sm/il-diesse-lo-russo-a-nyon-per-il-sorteggio-vogliamo-giocarci-le-nostre-carte/

Right now (2026/27)

Danilo Girolomoni, appointed in 2024, is the head coach; his predecessors include the San Marino record goalscorer Andy Selva, who managed the club from 2022 to 2024. The squad is a mix of Sammarinese players and Italians from the semi-professional leagues across the border, with the goalkeeper Michele Nardi, the forward Matteo Prandelli and the international midfielder Luca Censoni among the recognisable names. The Sammarinese international defender Simone Giocondi is a recent addition.

As Sammarinese champions Tre Fiori entered the Champions League first qualifying round and were drawn against Larne of Northern Ireland, a tie Lo Russo said the club had hoped for. They lost 1-0 at the San Marino Stadium in Serravalle on 7 July 2026, Matthew Lusty scoring on the stroke of half-time, in front of 672. At Inver Park on 14 July they led through Pietro Mengucci on 12 minutes before Matthew Ridley equalised on 25 and Dan Bent scored a penalty on 69; 2-1 to Larne, 3-1 on aggregate, before 1,632.

The draw had already given Tre Fiori a fallback. They dropped straight into the Conference League Champions Path third qualifying round, bypassing the second round on a bye, and were drawn against Drita of Kosovo. The first leg at the San Marino Stadium on Thursday 6 August 2026 was lost 1-4 in front of 258 spectators. Prandelli put Tre Fiori ahead on 56 minutes; Raddy Ovouka equalised on 61, Blerim Krasniqi scored on 62 and Besnik Krasniqi added two more, on 82 and from the penalty spot in stoppage time. Tommaso Bernardi and Simone Rea had both been suspended for the match. The second leg is at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium in Pristina on Thursday 13 August 2026, refereed by Don Robertson of Scotland; Drita are using the national stadium because their own ground in Gjilan does not meet UEFA requirements. Should Tre Fiori somehow turn the tie round they would face Inter Club d'Escaldes of Andorra or Flora Tallinn in the play-off round.
