The club

Fudbalski Klub Zeleznicar Pancevo, nicknamed "Dizelka" (the diesel locomotive), is a football club in Pancevo, Serbia, founded in 1947. This club must not be confused with FK Zeljeznicar Sarajevo, formed in 1921 by a group of railway workers in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina — a different country, a different club, and a different history, sharing only the "railwayman" name that is common across the former Yugoslavia. Zeleznicar is in fact one of nine Serbian clubs carrying the Zeleznicar name found on Wikipedia's disambiguation page for the name: alongside Pancevo there are FK Zeleznicar Beograd (Belgrade), FK Zeleznicar Indjija, FK Zeleznicar Lajkovac, FK Zeleznicar Nis, FK Zeleznicar Novi Sad, FK Zeleznicar Pozarevac, FK Zeleznicar Vranjska Banja, and FK Zeleznicar 1930 of Smederevo. None of those clubs should be conflated with the Pancevo side, which is the one that has reached the Serbian SuperLiga.

The club rose to prominence in the early 2020s, winning back-to-back promotions and reaching the Serbian SuperLiga in 2022, and in doing so replaced the now-defunct FK Dinamo Pancevo as the city's primary football club.
