Tag yourself into a table
It works like a hashtag on Twitter. Nobody owns #arsenal — anyone can use it, and using the same one is what puts you together. A tag here does that with your predictions: add one, and you are scored against everyone else carrying it.
So instead of measuring yourself against thirty thousand strangers, you are in a table with the people you actually talk to. Same word, same table.
- Add a tag — #office, #sunday-league, whatever your group already calls itself.
- Send the invite link. Opening it adds the same tag for them.
- Keep predicting as normal. Nothing else changes.
Why a tag and not a private league
Most sites make you create a league, name it, run it and pick one to belong to. A tag does the same job with none of that, and it does several things a league cannot.
- You can hold as many as you like, at once. A league forces you to choose one. You might carry #office, #sunday-league and #dads together and sit in three tables at the same time.
- You predict once. The same call is scored in every tag you carry, and in Everyone — which is just the table with no tag applied. You never re-enter anything, and no tag can ask you to.
- It works across every competition. A tag is a group of people, not a competition. The same #office gives you a Premier League table, an MLS table and a Scottish Championship table.
- There is nothing to set up or run. No owner, no admin, no join code and nobody to approve you. A tag exists because someone typed it, and it never needs handing over when whoever started it loses interest.
- It grows. The tag you use today is the same one that will carry the group's chat, so a tag ends up being your group rather than just its table.
Worth knowing
- Tags are not exclusive. Another group could pick #office too. If you see people you do not recognise, choose something less obvious — that is also how you keep a tag private, so #office is a weak one and #turner-street-crew is a strong one.
- Leaving is quiet. Remove a tag and you drop out of that table. Nobody is told, and nobody can remove you.
- Without a pass your points show but do not count. Predicting is free and always will be; a pass is what puts your score into the table.
